LOVE & LIGHT | Marissa & Steve in NYC

When they first met in college at UPENN, Marissa proudly proclaimed that she would never date Steve...Ever. That was in 2002. On December 25th, 2013 Steve proposed after the couple had been dating for 11 years. For the wedding ceremony, they exchanged hand-written vows before friends, family and loved ones in the heart of downtown NYC.

The Buddhist and non denominational ceremony was hosted at Deepak Homebase, the event space of ABC Carpet & Home. Afterward, guests made their way downstairs for a farm to table melody of dishes prepared by Jean George’s ABC Kitchen. The party was MCed by crooner and Daybreaker (the morning rave) favorite Elliot Larue with additional music by DJ Best. For anyone left standing, the celebration continued at The Gramercy Park Hotel.

Fun Fact: The only photo request Marissa had was an impromptu shoot. As co-founder of Negative Underwear, she arranged to have her friends "preview" a soon to be released lingerie line while getting ready at the hotel. A few months later, Marissa was named on the Forbes “30 under 30” list in the art and style category.
